Most Asked Questions and Answers for Book Fair

This year the Leimert Park Village Book Fair will host a “virtual experience” for our attendees and supporters. This is to say, our event programming will take place online - it will not be held outdoors with booths. When is the Virtual Book Fair?
Answer: The Leimert Park Village Book Fair Virtual Experience will commemorate National Book Month on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Special Pre-Book Fair events may also take place leading up to our event! So keep updated on Book Fair news, Author Adds, and any Special Event announcements by regularly visiting our official website and social media platforms @LeimertParkBF on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.


Is there a cost to participate in the virtual Book Fair event?
Answer: No there is no cost to participate as an attendee! Our virtual program will be unveiled on Saturday, Nov. 5 and access will be FREE to view all panel discussions, readings, and talks. But you must FIRST register AND receive by email a Digital Pass code for entrance into the event. Please retain this confirmation email! It’s your ticket into the event.


I want to be a featured author/panelist/speaker at Leimert Park Village Virtual Book Fair. What do I need to do?

How will the virtual Book Fair work?
To view our Virtual Book Fair, you must first sign up and register as an online attendee. This process is easy!  Register here:  https://leimertparkvillagebookfair.regfox.com/2022-leimert-park-village-virtual-book-fair.

Keep posted on Book Fair news by visiting our website, and social media platforms for any updates.  Then on the day of the event, go to our website using your Digital Pass Code to access and enjoy our virtual event programs. 



I signed up for the Leimert Park Village Virtual Book Fair, but I can’t get in…help?
Answer: Find your confirmation or reminder email (s) then scroll down until you see the Leimert Park Village Virtual Book Fair Digital Pass and a button that says Access Online Event. Click this button which will take you to the virtual event. 

Or find and copy your access code -- listed in the same area. Click “Enter the Webcast” above and enter your access code numbers. From this point you should be able to enter the broadcast. If you still have problems, please email Ginger Campbell, our Virtual Event Coordinator or phone Ms. Campbell at (213) 760-7414.



Will your event be livestreamed?
Answer: Yes, the virtual event will be livestreamed on Saturday, November 5, 2022.


I want to log on from two different devices as I’ll be home on my desktop in the morning then on my cell in the afternoon, can I log on from different devices – at different times?
Answer: Yes, you can log on from different devices. However, the system locks the login to one device every hour. So, after an hour of accessing the event, the code will reset. After this reset you can then change to a different device.


What are the requirements for hosting and submitting a pre-recorded virtual video?
If proposing a panel, host must coordinate/confirm moderator and panelists 

with no more than 3 panelists.

  • Length of Video for Panel: Minimum 5 minutes but cannot exceed 15 minutes. 

  • Length of Video for Author Readings: 2-3 minutes but cannot exceed 7 minutes.

  • Type of Video: MP4 format, submitted via Google Doc to: blaise@brazenpathdesign.com.

  • Must provide short blurb/description of discussion. *

  • Must submit photos and panelists/ moderator bios + book cover images. *

We recommend, prior to taping your video, please submit for approval a proposal of topic with panelists’ names.

Can I view portions of the virtual program after the event?
Answer: Yes, post event - all presentations will be available for viewing again on our official website and YouTube Channel.



Can I propose a panel discussion or reading for the Leimert Park Village Book Fair virtual experience?
Answer: Yes, we welcome program proposals from our participants. However, we cannot guarantee all proposals will be acceptable or appropriate for our audiences. But please feel free to submit your ideas for consideration.


When is the deadline to apply as an Author or Exhibitor?
Answer: Our deadline for all applicant is: Monday, October 24, 2022.
