The Leimert Park Village Book Fair has a 5 Point Initiative Plan to promote and encourage literacy and education in the community and greater society. These initiatives include:
Promote and share the joy of reading with children and adults with an annual literacy community fair.
Work with Pre-K through 12th Grades teachers to improve literacy instruction so children become powerful readers, writers, and thinkers.
Conduct literacy, writing and career development seminar courses in the community in partnership with partners.
Donate books to low-income and impoverished communities, locally and internationally.
Work with educators, administrators, policymakers, and community stakeholders about the importance of effective reading instruction in the early childhood grades.
